In 2014, according to the terms of reference of the Agency, the development of the aircraft dosing unit SMK-0000 was carried out and their serial production of quick-detachable carbon dioxide units for installation on An-2 (TVS-2DT), An-12 and An-26 aircraft was started.

 The dosing device (Fig. 1) is designed for uniform seeding of clouds with solid carbon dioxide. In a cloudy environment, carbon dioxide, having an evaporation temperature of minus 78.9 ° C, creates a strong cooling, as a result of which, due to the supersaturation of water vapor, spontaneous formation of small ice crystals occurs. During its evaporation, 1 g of solid carbon dioxide generates 1011 ice particles. The temperature threshold for the activity of solid carbon dioxide is minus 4°C.

  To store granular carbon dioxide, special light, collapsible, thermally insulated containers with pallets are used, which make it possible to store carbon dioxide both on the ground and on board the aircraft for several days (Fig. 2).

  The quick-detachable carbon dioxide plant provides a one-time loading of the receiving hopper with at least 20 kg of granular carbon dioxide and a controlled discharge of the reagent at a flow rate of 3, 6 and 10 kg/min.
