General view of the installation: wind tunnel (left), aerosol cube (middle) and cloud chamber (right)<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The aerodynamic stand consists of:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 wind tunnel;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 cloud camera;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 aerosol dilution systems;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 aerosol sampling systems;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 systems of fastening and ignition of the aerosol generator;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 ice crystal registration systems.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The wind tunnel is designed to create an air flow blowing around the aerosol generator and includes:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 high pressure fan;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 working part with a diameter of 0,3 m and a length of 1,5 m;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 exhaust pipe with a diameter of 1,0 m and a length of 6 m;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 turbulator with a diameter of 0,1 m;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 generator fastening system in the working part.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The cloud chamber is designed to create a model fog with a given supercooling temperature. The working volume is 125 liters. The working volume of the cloud chamber with thermostats, a thermometer, a fan, and a clarifier located in it<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">MAIN SPECIFICATIONS<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Diameter of the section of the working part of the installation \u2013 0,3 m;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Air flow speed &#8212; up to 20 m \/ s;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Supercooled fog temperature range &#8212; from -1\u00b0\u0421 to -25\u00b0\u0421;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Aerosol concentration dilution factor &#8212; up to 70;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 The minimum and maximum measured values of the output: ice-forming particles &#8212; 107 and 1017 g-1;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 The duration of one measurement is about 40 minutes;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Root-mean-square error of one measurement of the yield of ice-forming particles from 1 gram of a pyrotechnic composition at a temperature of minus 10\u00b0C is not more than \u00b1 120%;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Power consumption &#8212; no more than 1 kW \/ h.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PRINCIPLE OF MEASURING THE ICE FORMING OUTPUT<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The measurement principle is to determine the number of ice crystals formed when a known sample of aerosol produced by the operation of an ice-forming aerosol generator in an air stream is introduced into a supercooled water mist.<\/span>\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">An air flow with specified characteristics is created in a wind tunnel.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fog is created in the working volume of the cooled cloud chamber by launching a jet of hot water vapor.
